Project 007: DIY Pearl Clutch

As promised I have searched all over and have found an easy Do it Yourself Pearl Clutch tutorial. With this Pearl clutch you can achieve a vintage twenties-inspired look. Totally Classy!

You Will Need:

- Small or Medium size Leather clutch
- Ruler
- Flat back pearl beads
- Craft glue (e6000) or anything permanent that dries clear and permanent.
- Pencil
- Toothpicks
- Plate or disposable container

First draw your design on top of leather clutch with a pencil and use the ruler as guide. On this tutorial we will be making symmetrical markings.

Mark the area where you will be placing the pearls. Using the ruler measure how far apart you want the pearls to be and leave a dot mark on top of it.

Using a plastic plate or disposable container pour or squeeze a dollop amount of glue

For applying glue on the gems you will be using a toothpick or cotton buds (just remove the cotton part). Then swab the flat back side of the gem and glue it over the dotted area of your clutch.

Press firmly to attach the gem in place. Give it about 5 seconds of being pressed down firmly before proceeding to the next gem. Continue until you attached all gems on the dotted areas.

Finish Product

DIY Wall Decor

Who doesn’t love a well decorated home? I’m sure everyone wants to come home to a nice looking home. Not a house —- a hpme. Although, not everyone has the mad skills in designing their house and arranging the furnitures like those sampled in a magazine or what we see in the movies. Hiring an interior designer can quite cost a lot as well so trying to come up with a “creative” thumb is the best option… My best bet was to make a wall decor that won’t be heavy on the budget but would definitely add some “color” in our plain boring background.

Budget:

Less than $15

You Will Need:

Fat Quarter Fabric or any available fabric
- (FQ) can be bought from Ebay starting at $3 - $6
Cork Board 4pcs. $5
Stapler & Staples
Scissor

Kindly check the pictures for reference. I basically shaped the fabrice to the size of the cork board and have stapled it all through out at the back. I have a double sided mounting tape to attach it to the wall. The mounting tape is already included when I bought the cork board. Then hang accordingly to your wall.

So there’s your finish product. Your wall is looking a lot more fab than bland. Surely it isn’t perfect but it surely is better than nothing in there. Hopefully you find this post helpful. Let me know what you think! xox

Project 006: DIY Fringe Necklace

Hey there frugal fashionista’s! I am sure just the title alone is already getiing all of you worked up. If you love accesories, then perfect timing! Today I am sharing my easy to follow “do it yourself” fringe necklace. Why buy it, if you can make it?

You Will Need:

An old dress or Tshirt
scissors
thread & needle
and your undivided attention and time

That’s it! Pretty easy right? If you don’t have a dress you can use a regular shirt instead. The braided part just came as a bonus as my dress had already been made that way. Although if you do like that look, you can always cut the collar in to three parts and start braiding it and just sew it on both ends and connect it with the rest of the fringe. Although that would take a lot more time and of course patience. If any of you tried this DIY please let me know. I would love to see other versions as well. Keep me posted! xox

Project 005: DIY Cosmic Shirt

With my new sewing machine, I have tons of re-creation ideas cooking up. But before anything else I wanted to make sure to share the ones I have already featured on my personal blog. For today, I have my easy do it yourself cosmic galaxy shirt from an old black shirt. At first, I am just as caught as everyone else with the latest trend yet I couldn’t find one that sells it at a reasonable price. That’s when I have thought I can try to make one on my own.

You Will Need:
Bleach
Water
Old Shirt
Nail Polish [color of your choice]

…and You’re Done!

There you have it! An actual cosmic shirt that is budget friendly and custom tailored the way you want it. Hope you find this post helpful. Til’ next! xox
